Dr. Harvey Castro, a seasoned emergency physician and healthcare AI strategist, has dedicated over two decades to revolutionizing healthcare through innovation and technology. Born in NYC and raised by a single teenage mother, Dr. Castro's journey from striving beyond financial limitations to becoming a pioneering physician entrepreneur showcases his resilience and ambition. Holding an MD and an MBA, he has served as CEO of healthcare systems, blending clinical expertise with strategic business acumen to enhance healthcare delivery and efficiency.
Currently, Dr. Castro is at the forefront of integrating AI in healthcare, serving as a Strategic Advisor for ChatGPT & Healthcare, author, and public speaker. He is committed to bridging the gap between healthcare professionals and AI technology, aiming to optimize patient care and empower physicians with AI tools. Dr. Castro's work spans advising medical startups, leading medical education in AI at The University of Texas at San Antonio, and publishing on AI's role in healthcare innovation.
Renowned for his contributions to emergency medicine and healthcare consulting, Dr. Castro has been recognized as an ER doctor of the year multiple times and holds several boards and advanced AI and medical certifications. Attendees can reference several ASHP publications related to AI in pharmacy practice in preparation for the summit. Content is optional, as faculty presenters will provide a comprehensive overview of any content discussed.
Select educational programming of the AI summit will offer continuing education credit. More details on CE sessions will be posted on the Pharmacy Future meeting’s itinerary planner.
The ASHP Pharmacy Futures meeting will offer various programming options for attendees throughout the summit (Sunday/Monday) and beyond. Attendees interested in attending all AI summit education will have the opportunity to build upon the AI-related content and discussions. However, participants can move freely between sessions based on their educational goals and interests.
