About ASHP Pharmacy Futures 2024

Take part in a transformation of pharmacy practice where you will unleash innovation, forge collaborations, and drive meaningful improvement in patient care and outcomes. ASHP’s dynamic new summer event brings together pharmacists, practice leaders, and preceptors to explore the cutting edge of clinical pharmacy practice from a variety of perspectives, to collaborate, innovate, and shape the future of the practice.

Pharmacy Futures will offer over 45 dynamic education sessions that will cover the most relevant issues in contemporary practice as well as foster a collaborative environment where pharmacists, leaders, technicians, and innovators can unite to explore the impactful integration of AI in pharmacy practice and healthcare. Pharmacy Futures will feature several new programming components including:

Summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Pharmacy Practice

The AI summit aims to advance the expertise of pharmacists in the evolving landscape of AI adoption in healthcare, empowering them to advance pharmacy practice. Participate in the AI summit and join pharmacy leaders, practitioners, and innovators in a two-day, immersive program that explores the impactful integration of AI in healthcare.

Sterile Compounding Designated Person Competency Training

This premier program includes live didactic and hands-on learning sessions to prepare attendees to lead a sterile compounding program. Participants will complete a final one-on-one skills assessment conducted by our experts. Sessions will include didactic and practical sessions on certification reports, personnel competencies, surface sampling techniques and interpreting results, and garbing assessment.

The meetings also kicks off ASHP’s policy year with the inauguration of new officers and board members, hosts the proceedings of the House of Delegates, and includes poster presentations and an opportunity to learn more about the latest technological developments and healthcare innovations in our Exploration Hall.
